I’m not sure exactly how I came across Extraordinary in the Ordinary. You had autographed it to someone named Linda. Then Linda must have given it to Julie, because below your message it says “From Julie, Christmas 2016”. Julie I think, must have donated the book to a charity store and maybe that is where I bought it. I wish I could remember when and where I obtained it.
I’ve read it several times over and have been blessed each time. There are notes and underlines on almost every page. The very first story about ladybugs and butterflies was so special. I took your advice and picked a bluebird as the reminder that Jesus loves me. I have a bird feeder right outside my kitchen window and God blesses me regularly with bluebirds, year round. (I live in NC). My dearest friend picked goldfinches and I see them as well, which is a reminder to pray for my friend.
I also bought Ruth Meyer’s book 31 Days of Praise and have been using it every morning in my quiet time. What a wonderful little book. Praising God has strengthened my faith and given me a new love for Jesus that over time had waned some.
I just wanted to let you know that your precious book has blessed me in so many ways. I could go on but won’t. I will continue to pick it up and read it again and again.

I received this book as a gift & keep it on my bedside table. The daily lessons are so well-written & easy to relate to. The author has a gift for diving into life challenges & with empathy born of a tender heart & a close relationship with her Lord, ministers wisdom & comfort. Often, I find myself reading multiple devotions instead of one a day.
I love the scripture references & practical life application. I will play it forward & purchase this book for many friends!

This book delivers a deep message, but in a way that is accessible to all. Its pages will inspire and challenge you, to open your eyes and see all the ways God “shows up” in every day moments.

I enjoyed this so much that I couldn't put it down until I read it cover to cover. I ordered several to encourage the special women in my life. Some I ordered to give away as led by the Holy Spirit. I gave one to the sweetest lady at a dunkin donuts who makes my special coffee and doughnuts (pun intended). Thank you Lanie for encouraging us as we go thru "our hard". This life is so challenging on all fronts. Lanie's book is one of the bright spots that helps fill our cups. I can not recommend it highly enough!!!!!!!!!

I recently received your book as a gift from my dear friend Cheryl. First let me say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for loving on her and encouraging her.  The timing was perfect.  It also encouraged me a great deal.  I eagerly read it cover to cover by the following day. The inscription still makes me smile.   I was not familiar with the verse that the Lord rejoices over me with singing.  That is beautiful.

I took your devotional book and read through it 2 times. Your words really broke into my distracted, grieving, tired heart. I felt so encouraged and filled up! I was really moved by the comment that if our voice is the only voice we hear, then we are in a dark place. I had to sit with that a bit and repent and invite once again...the spirit to speak and lead. I feel like I have a new beginning as I re-enter the world.

Your book lives on my desk, and I pick it up whenever I need a little inspiration.
